The eighties found our crew of carpenters, plumbers and electricians remodeling the first of many old Stowe homes. Down Home (Hot Tubs, remember?) was sold in 1990. Northern New England Homes was created at that time. The early years were focused primarily on small custom modular homes. In the mid-90s, NNEH introduced post and beam construction, recycling old timberframes and antique barns for reuse as homes, art galleries and car-collectors barns.
At this time, land is becoming more and more difficult to find in Stowe. This is driving the market into major remodeling and teardowns. Northern New England Homes has become a market leader in large, whole house renovation. We have garnered many awards for our projects from the Northern Vermont Homebuilders Association.
